The Vitality Health Check (VHC) consists of 5 measures (blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol, a weight assessment and a signed non-smokers declaration). Members can earn up to 22 500 Vitality points when they do their VHC, depending on how many of their results are in the normal range category. This is available to members from 18 years of age.

Vitality for 65+ is a set of age-appropriate assessments aimed at members 65 and over and their specific needs. It consists of the core VHC checks plus three additional assessments:

  • Hearing screening test – to be conducted on a tablet loaded with hearX software
  • Vision screening test – to be conducted on a tablet loaded with hearX software
  • STEADI falls risk assessment, based on the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention’s STEADI programme

The following vaccinations are also included as part of the VHC for 65+:

  • Flu vaccination
  • Pneumococcal vaccination
  • Shingles vaccination (optional, with the appropriate script)

Members aged 65+ who are on Vitality can earn 500 Vitality points for completing the 3 additional assessments. These points may only be earned once per calendar year. The 500 points earned is earned regardless of the result of the additional assessments. However, the core VHC must be done either before or in the same session in order for the 500 points to be allocated. These points only apply when a member has not earned the maximum points as per their health status. Therefore, the cap of 22500 points will apply.

Members who complete the VHC for 65+ will receive a Vitality 65+ magazine. Members that complete the VHC for 65+ at Clicks or Dis-Chem will also receive a co-branded shopping bag to take home with them at the end of the Vitality Health Check for 65+. These will be supplied by Vitality.
