• Make sure that you tick the checkbox on the vaccine section of the VHCs before you submit your assessment so that your member can get points (flu vaccine only) and for Discovery to record that a vaccine was given
  • You will also need a prescription for the pneumococcal vaccine (PPSV23) and shingles vaccine. The flu vaccine does not require a prescription. You can exit the VHC dashboard and return to it to record the vaccinations after getting a prescription and then submit the assessment.
  • You can call a Healthforce doctor on Videomed to get the prescription. If you call a doctor, the patient will need to pay for a Videomed Mid consultation (as per your clinic rates). If your patient is a member of DHMS or Discovery Primary Care, you can claim for this consult from their benefits as per normal (NB - benefit limits apply). Remember to always start a scheme consult for eligible scheme members so that Healthforce can send the SOAP notes to Discovery before you can submit a claim for a consult.
  • Once you have the prescription, you can get the medication from the dispensary. NB - the dispensary must process the claim for the vaccinations separately and if needed, the patient must pay for these themselves before you can administer them.
