The Discovery benefit for virtual GPs (Videomed) is only available to plans with a Medical Savings Account (MSA). Members of qualifying plans can still use this benefit when their MSA is depleted. The benefit is known as the day-to-day extender benefit (DEB).
Note that only Discovery Health Medical Scheme (DHMS) and Discovery Primary Care members qualify and not members of other medical schemes administered by Discovery e.g. Bankmed, Edcon, etc. Check the member's card to confirm.
The table below covers the nurse and Videomed benefits. All other benefits e.g. chronic, radiology, pathology, etc., are plan dependent so make sure you check the member's benefits before each consultation.
